First time hearing aids are switched on
Damn the feedback/whistling is horrid; that’s all she can hear, what with them right in her ears.
She’s trying to tear them out. She probably doesn’t need them in the first place; if she has a processing delay instead of a hearing loss, giving her screaming hearing aids will only hurt her. Seeing as she’s also non-verbal, I’d seriously worry about her input on whether she wants them. I worked with many people who, “had a serious hearing loss”, yet if you counted to exactly 10, they’d do exactly what was asked…mimicking a profound hearing loss if one isn’t observant or patient. My supervisors told me that those who were given strong hearing aids would ALWAYS tear them out because they weren’t having any trouble hearing, just trouble with brain-processing.
